About this list

For a game without joining anything, start in the city centre or on Frederiksberg. The chess café at Skakkens Hus in Sølvgade is free and open on Monday and Wednesday afternoons and Friday mornings, and its hosts help a visitor find an opponent of similar strength. At Falkoner Allé on Frederiksberg the Skaksalon holds open afternoons on Thursday and Saturday, and on the last Friday of most months an evening of casual games with instructors at hand.

Club evenings are the other way in: most clubs in the city and the suburbs accept guests, and each entry names the night to come. The rated tournaments, club championships and team events of the area are gathered here too, from club series played over several weeks to weekend championships, which is why the list runs long.
